The MDJ7001 flameproof computer is a device designed for visualization of technological processes controlled by underground automatic systems where the computer exchanges information with PLC controllers. In particular, it is suitable for collaboration with intrinsically safe controllers of the MDJ315-2DPEx, ET2000Ex and MDJ6001 types. Typically the computer handles the Ethernet, Profibus, MPI and Modbus RTU network protocols
as well as others depending on the software installed.
By default the appliance is delivered with the WinCC Flexible software package. The computer can collaborate with a simplified nine-button keypad or a standard QWERTY keyboard and is designed for operation in potentially explosive atmospheres with the 'a', 'b' and 'c' hazards of explosion.
The MDJ315-2DPEx intrinsically safe controller is designed for the control of technological processes in underground areas of mines. It can be operated in excavations with potentially explosive atmospheres with the ‘a’, ‘b’ and ‘c’ hazards of methane explosion and ‘A’ or ‘B’ hazards of coal dust explosion.
The device performs as a PLC controller with its CPU that is software compatible with the CPU315-2DP unit from Siemens. The controller can be programmed with the standard Step-7 software from Siemens.
The ET2000Ex intrinsically safe controller is usually operated as an intrinsically safe I/O module with
the Profibus DP communication facilities.
It can collaborate with the MDJ315-2DPEx controller
or other PLCs furnished with the Profibus communication port. PLC controllers can be located outside the areas with potentially explosive atmospheres and communicate with the ET2000Ex device via a fibre optic cable or intrinsically safe RS485 network. These controllers can be also designed as redundant devices and then can be used as key components of the Intrinsically Safe System for Shaft Communication, namely as local stations that handle communication at individual levels of the shaft. The ET2000Ex controller can be operated in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres with the 'a', 'b' and 'c' hazards of methane explosion and 'A' or 'B' hazards of coal dust explosion.
The MDJ6001 intrinsically safe controller is a device designed for monitoring and control of technological processes in underground areas of mines.
It can be operated in excavations with hazards of methane or coal dust explosion. Typically it is employed as a PLC controller than can be programmed in C language and used for the control of relatively simple technological systems.
The unit of intrinsically safe pneumatic solenoid manifolds (ZIREP) is designed for the control of pneumatic equipment in the mining industry.
The ZIREP manifold can be operated in excavations with hazards of methane and coal dust explosion.
Intrinsically safe weighing scales for belt conveyors
The REX-01 weighing scales is an intrinsically safe device designed for application in underground areas of mines.
It can be operated, depending on the software installed, as a weighing device for belt conveyors or for tanks. The tank weighing scales is dedicated to measuring the weight of liquid or bulk material stored inside a tank or container. The weighing appliance for belt conveyors is meant for the continuous measurements of bulk material transported by means of a belt conveyor.
The REX-01 weighing device is integrated with the MDJ315-2DPEx or ET2000Ex controllers and can be configured and programmed by means of Step-7 software from Siemens.
The SEP-16 separator for galvanic decoupling of intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe signals is a device that enables separation between intrinsically safe circuits of ia or ib classes and non-intrinsically safe circuits. The device enables the transmission of signals from both the intrinsically safe side to the non-intrinsically safe side and vice versa.
The maximum number of signals that can be transmitted via the galvanic barrier is 16. These signals are structured into four groups of signals with four signals per each group. Each group can be individually set to transmission of intrinsically safe signals to the non-intrinsically safe side or vice versa. Hence, any arrangement of 16 input and output signals is possible with subdivision into four groups. The device can be supplied from the non-intrinsically safe side with the a.c. voltages (42 VAC, 127VAC or 230VAC) or d.c. voltages (12 VDC, 24 VDC or 110 VDC).
